A true Transverse and Peninsular Range native that grows wild on rocky chaparral slopes from 3,900 to 7,900 ft — right in our high country. Gray-green leaves and urn-shaped pink-white winter flowers feed early hummingbirds, followed by berries for the birds. Tough, beautiful, and properly mountain-hardy. Cold-hardy to ~-5°F.
