Description

California Poppies (Eschscholzia californica) Seeds are the #1 way to start a native plant garden. Almost anywhere in California they will thrive, and proliferate and help establish a suitable place for other plants to start to take hold. Once you have a few you’ll always have them. The seeds are great food for people and wildlife. Germinates readily, plant in Spring or Fall in milder climates. While it’s an annual it may live longer if it is in a good location with plenty of water, drainage, and organic material in the soil.

Great for Container Gardens, Sidewalk Strips, Wildflower gardens, Tortoise gardens, etc.

The origin of the poppies are unknown, just store bought but they are second generation Wrightwood plants from Lesa Dawn Smith’s Memory Garden at Wrightwood’s Littlest Pet Shop. Stop into their store if you want to support a good cause and a to support a non-profit with a mostly native garden!
