Sculptural mahogany-red bark and smoky blue-gray leaves make this one of our most striking large manzanitas. Urn-shaped pink-white flowers feed early hummingbirds in winter, followed by big sticky berries for wildlife. Needs lean soil and excellent drainage — never overwater a manzanita. Cold-hardy to ~0°F.
